Welcome to Singapore, the land of lians and singlish!

Forget the merlion, forget ERPs, forget Sentosa!

Introducing the newest tourist attraction of Singapore!

TWITS! (aka lians)

As said by Cheryl "They want hate Ahlians let them hate. They just dont know how to appreciate this unique trait of singapore, which other countries dont have."

Applause please! We, Singapore, finally have something that other countries do not have! LIANS! Whoa!

I'm sure Malaysia will not quarrel with us over this 'uniqueness'.

Last time I checked, twits were a world-wide phenomenon. It's just so happens that the some countries do not have Asian twits. For example, in America, they call'em airheads/bimbos/bitches. It just so happens in Singapore they are called twits/lians.

So to our global readers, come visit Singapore if you'd like to see them twits!

That'll never happen.

I'll migrate outta this country if lians became our national identity. Yuck.

COME VISIT SINGAPORE! WE'LL MAKE SURE YOU VISIT THE MERLION INSTEAD OF TWITS. :D

Reuben, just to let you know, twit has lots of meaning. and if you brain is big enough to understand all of its meaning, you'll know that one of them actually suites ALs. don't act smart when you're clearly not

dear gerald~love wolves, i'm not sure if this was your intention but are you trying to insinuate that you yourself are a twit? this blog assumes that twits aka "ALs" (although this definition is false) use bad english.

OH i think i get it now. when you said, 'twit has lots of meaning', you didn't actually mean to say that the word twit 'has lots of meaning', but rather you meant to say that there are a lot of different definitions to the word 'twit'. i understand, your poor grammar threw me off there for a second. but you're still wrong. i'm pretty sure when the british came up with the slang 'twit', they didn't have us lowly singaporeans in mind.

now to the blogger: AGAIN the hypocrisy, please STOP making fun of other people's english when you yourself have terrible grammar!

and as i mentioned at the other blog, having a beng/lian 'culture' may not be prestigious or reputable to say the least but at least they are real and down-to-earth people. they don't get on their high horses and put down others because of their financial/social/academic superiority. (although at this point i can't even credit this blogger with academic superiority.) besides, if i knew of people visiting singapore for the first time, i sure as hell wouldn't put them in your hands. what could you possibly tell them about singapore? orchard road, esplanade, singapore flyer, night safari, good food and comfy hotels. you probably know as much about singapore as a tourist does. what do you know about our drug scene, our grindcore scene, our redlight district? these unconventional aspects are what define us and give us character, even though they are somewhat the black sheep of our country. the point is, there's more to singapore than the cleanly-polished exterior that we expose our tourists (and well-groomed elite) to. get out of your elitist bubble and get in touch with the real world.
